About Mawi Learning:

  • Mawi Asgedom is a refugee from Ethiopia who survived a Sudanese refugee camp before arriving in America. He was an ELL student for three years and overcame many challenges to earn a scholarship to Harvard.
  • Mawi created Super ELL to bring hope and opportunity to other ELL students and to inspire ELL educators with a strength-based “Super ELL” Philosophy.
  • Since 1999, Mawi has inspired over one million students and educators. He has written eight books and is widely recognized as a leading authority on youth leadership. Mawi has spoken to ELL educators around the world, including at the annual TESOL conference to over 3,000 educators.
